Ambitious, Young, Determined, Gender-Focused - A Glance Into the Life of Sovereign Hasahya.

Ms. Sovereign Hasahya holds an impactful role as the Executive Assistant at the Directorate of Communication, Publicity, and Public Relations at the National Resistance Movement Secretariat. Her dedication to serving others has ventured her into political leadership and community development.

Ms Hasahya currently serves as the Female Youth Affairs secretary in Butaleja District and is an active member of the National Youth Council of Uganda. With a strong ideological foundation and certification as a Cadre of the National Resistance Movement, she has completed the Political Education and Transformative Leadership Course at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi.

Ms Hasahya's academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Human Rights from Makerere University and a first honours degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Kampala International University. Her leadership roles extend to being the former Minister of Gender and Social Affairs, a guild Member of Parliament at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the President of the Social Workers Association at Kampala International University.

Guided by her core values of integrity, hard work, commitment, compassion, discipline, togetherness, responsibility, and trust in God, Ms. Sovereign Hasahya is dedicated to making a positive impact and providing effective representation. A native of Butaleja, she aspires to contest for the position of Woman Member of Parliament in the upcoming elections, showcasing her continued commitment to her community and the people she serves.
