Song Review: JBak - Owaye an Afro Pop Sensation

We all have choices and preferences especially when it comes to lifestyle- we have our hopes, desires and dreams. But what happens when you can’t seem to reach your dreams?

Well today, we are glad to be introduced to a soul afro pop sensation by JBak, ‘Owaaye’ released on Sunday, May 23, 2021, produced by Kiracho of Ewetu Studios.The song is personal in nature but not the way you would think; no, it ain’t a girl but life itself.

Have you ever felt like your everything is working against you? Like you’re just forcing life and you aren’t meant for something, well, that feeling is the birth of this sweet melody. The song captures the struggle of our hopes and dreams, the desperation that arises with the frustration of being stuck in a certain cocoon where you want things to move a certain way but they just can’t seem to be going as planned, in fact, they seem to being going the opposite direction.

That’s the story here. The artiste shares that for long he has felt like there is a wall, a wall that he just couldn’t seem to climb for instance, last year, he had about three promising shows all lined up but, one by one they all got cancelled. ‘When you flip a coin, you can never know what side it will land on’, he says.

JBak is mostly a soul performing and recording soul artiste with a great passion for music. He is a talented guitarist who at times plays around with other musical instruments, enjoys writing songs and poems. He has also done some comedy (check out Kalantin News Network) and a sportsman.
