EXCLUSIVE: Elton Brasson Gyaza (The Fashion Star in Me)

Elton is a fashion designer, CEO of Elton Brasson Couture, I am graduating this year with a Bachelors Degree of Science in chemical and Process engineering. I am a born of the East, a Musoga by Tribe, I had part of my education from Jinja, Jinja Progressive Academy where I had a very dynamic life, I was a leader on the Uganda National Students Association at School Level and District Level, I also served as a Councillor at Jinja District Youth Council. While at school, I was a sports person, I represented my school at District and National level in Volleyball tournament and I served as the team captain.

My fashion house is called Elton Brasson Couture founded in 2017 by Jyaza Elton, the fashion house deals in Bespoke fashion for men, women and children, we are based in Kampala on The Arcade, Luwum Street, Room 30, we are also online, on Facebook and instagram @theeltonbrassonclothing.

What inspires my pieces primarily is wanting to add value to the industry, I do afro story telling through fashion, we have quite a number of fashion houses but we are missing the fashion direction as Uganda Fashion Industry, I want my work to add value to the face of Uganda Fashion Industry.

About the Sandra Kay Project, she came with her own idea and we made it happen, it's impressive, more of an Afro futuristic design.

My fashion journey started in 2017 and I got an opportunity to work on a collaborative project, I was designing a Miss tourism 2017 contestant Akullo Jean Coprise, we were inspireed by the Greek Goddess look, it was great and up to now the photos look new, its like they were made in the future.

After the Miss Tourism project, I got more connections to work on a number of projects, some have been collaborative with celebrities, the project include Allan Toniks Sikuleka Video, Karol Kasita Balance Video, Zulitum Tabbu video, Love Panic by Vinka video, All these project I have been working with Solomon Tazibone of Kredibility Styling and former TV host at NTV Style Project.

Currently I am working on a Film Costume design project for a TV drama series called Prestige showing on Pearl Magic Prime on DSTv.
