Like many, Dr Jose Chameleon is among the artists who have picked interest in political positions, in 2019 he came out to declare his interest to stand for the position of Lord Mayor of Uganda’s capital Kampala which created a lot of debate from his fans and several Ugandans.
The life of Dr Jose Chameleon has been purely showbiz, and a lot of violence against his fellow artists, the most gruesome act of Chameleon’s violence act was against Vampino in 2007. Vampino is a Ugandan dancehall artists and brother to Uganda celebrated vocalist Maurice Kirya.
There has been several reports of Chameleon’s violent acts against several people including producers, the latest being Producer Diggy Buar the man who produced one of Chameleon’s least hit “BWALIWA”. This has come at the time when Joseph Mayanja was just getting to start off with his campaigns.
Several scandals have surrounded the artist including failure to pay tax, Uganda Revenue Authority recently impounded his expensive ride over unpaid taxes.
What could be the problem with such a talented artist, a father and a husband, and what is his future in his latest declared political intention, can Joseph Mayanja sit on the throne at Kampala city hall, and how can he do that?
Even when it seems late for Dr Jose Chameleon to clear his name from the scandals surrounding him, he has got to come out clear and apologise to the people he has offended, he has the love of many people, and lastly he has to choose to either be a politician and a leader or move on with Showbiz, let him learn a lesson from Bobi Wine, when he took the political path he decided to do away with showbiz scandals for publicity.
