The 15 most viewed sub saharan African artists have been named, with Nigerian Burna Boy coming at No.1. Burna Boy leads with 435.57Million global views.
kuulpeeps.com reported that According to the findings of Billboard, The “vast majority” of YouTube views for African artists who have crossed the 1 million subscriber mark — among them Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Davido, Burna Boy and Naira Marley — “come from outside of the country that they’re from,” says Meenan, citing Burna Boy and Davido as examples. “Ninety-five percent of their views are coming from outside of Nigeria.” In both cases, the United States drove the most views. For Burna Boy, France and the United Kingdom placed second and third, while that order was reversed for Davido.
Its not a strange finding, the fact that most African countries are struggling with a population that is not acting positive and supportive towards their musicians. While our own Eddy Kenzo here in Uganda comes No.13 on the list, he has had a rough time in Uganda with so many people who have tried so hard to fight against him, criticism is so underrated in Uganda, people no longer just criticise, so many people are just hating, the attitude of Ugandans in particular is not so motivating to our talents.
